St. Paul Fire Department has two meetings per month.  The first is on the second Tuesday of each month and is the regular business meeting.  The second meeting is on the fourth Tuesday of each month and is the training meeting.  

To join the agency, you must attend three consecutive meetings to begin the process.

Membership Type

Senior Membership

  • At Least 18 years
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Run Emergency Calls
  • Must follow all by-laws and standard operating procedures.
  • Firefighter I Required within 1 year of probationary membership start.
  • Must pass VA OEMS Background Check
  • Must be in good standing in the community.

Junior Membership

  • High School Student
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Run Emergency Calls with Parent/Legal Guardian Permission
  • Must follow all by-laws and standard operating procedures.
  • Firefighter I Required within 1 year of probationary membership start.
  • Must pass VA OEMS Background Check
  • Must be in good standing in the community.

Support Membership

  • At Least 18 years
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Does not Run Emergency Calls
  • Must follow all by-laws and standard operating procedures.
  • Must pass VA OEMS Background Check
  • Must be in good standing in the community.

St. Paul Fire Department must obtain and retain certifications and training for each member.  Please be prepared to provide copies all training records.  

Note: EMS Certifications and/or EMS Training courses with expiration dates must be current and not expired.
